Hydrocarbon Containment
An estimated 2 to 2.4 billion tonnes of oil is transported via oceans per year. In 2010 10,000 tonnes of oil was spilled from tanker breaches. This quantifies only breaches where over 7 tonnes of oil is spilled. There is a large amount of oil that is still being spilled in the oceans and waterways every year in spite of tighter regulations for hydrocarbon carriers and more advanced prevention methods. The following are graphs of data collected from 1974 to 2010 by the International Tanker Owners Pollution Federation Ltd. (ITOPF) that show the breakdown of causes for spills over 7 tonnes.
Global Endeavours Ltd.’s offers ocean going hydrocarbon transports and storage facilities as well as port authorities that harbour hydrocarbon transport vessels innovative ways to combat hydrocarbon contamination.
Our Can-Gel™ line of products provides a rapid, safe solution to hydrocarbon containment on oceans, pipelines and fresh water. Can-Gel™ technology is effective with oil, gasoline, diesel, and many liquid hydrocarbons.
